The value of exported iron ore
Iron Ore holds some of the highest known values in the mineral industry. From 2001 - 2011, and still partially continuing to the current day, Iron Ore has allowed for strong economic growth and has dominated growths in exports over the past few years. The value of Iron Ore has increased from $5.2 billion in 2001 to $6.4 billion in 2011. Iron Ore exports from Australia at the end of 2009 were valued at around $30 billion, and in 2010, the value increased to $47 billion.
